The museum buildings, except for Pentre the Tudor Farmhouse, are accessible on the ground floor for buggies and wheelchairs. The farmhouse buildings have narrow steps to the first floor. Accessible toilets are available. For more details, please see below or download our access statement here.
Vehicle Access
Car parks are available as follows:
Car Park 1 – located on the A548 between the Railway Bridge and the Greenfield Business Park. 50 spaces
Car park 2 – located on the B5121 (Greenfield Road), 500 metres from the junction of the B5121 and the A548. 25 Spaces (4 disabled)
Car Park 3 – located on the B5121 (Greenfield Road) 1 Km south from the junction of the B5121 and the A548; and 300metres from the Royal Oak Pub in Bryn Celyn
Car Park 4 – Museum – Disabled only. Entrance, a single track road off the A548 in between the Greenfield Business Park and
Car Park 1 – 5 spaces Tesco’s Car Park Holywell – Car parking is limited to two hours and has bays for disabled drivers. Access into the Heritage Park is found by a steep ramp with a 1: 15 (steep gradient ).
Museum Access
Vehicular Access to Museum for Disabled only – Drive to Car Park 4, the Museum entrance is 150 metres away. The path is compacted stone dust and is suitable for wheelchairs with zero gradient. The thoroughfares in the museum are all compacted stone dust, entrance to all buildings in the Museum are via steps or ramps of reasonable gradient. Some Museum events are held on firm grass areas adjacent to the paths.
Greenfield Valley Heritage cente – buildings
Cym Llydan is a Victorian farm house Entrance is via a ramp of reasonable gradient. Movement around the ground floor is suitable for a small wheel chair. Access to the second floor is only available via a steep staircase.
Spring Garden School – Victorian school Access to the school is through a tunnel with reasonable gradient paths on either side. Entrance to the school is gained via a ramp. Movement within the school is not limited for wheel chairs.
Pentre Farm house – a Tudor farmhouse. Entrance to the building is via a step only and to the second floor via a very narrow and steep staircase.
Lower Cotton Mill Steam engine and bottling plant
Access to this Mill is via steps from the main path. Not suitable for push chairs, wheelchairs or for those with limited mobility or fitness. Access into the Mill is via a small
Three Mills site
Industrial mills Vehicle parking – use Car Park 3 access is via a kissing gate not suitable for wheelchair users. Or Royal Oak Car Park access is via a path through a meadow. Not suitable for wheelchair users. Site – the surfaces are gravel or compressed stone and are not generally suitable for unaccompanied wheel chair users. There are a number of paths Which have steps or steep gradients and are not suitable for push chairs, wheel chairs or those with limited mobility or fitness.
Woodland Trail
Use of the Woodland trail is accessible although not recommended for those using a wheelchair or with limited mobility or fitness. Entrance and exit Paths into and paths within the Woodland Trail have a crushed stone top and are not suitable for wheelchairs. The gradients of the paths into and within the Woodland Trail are very steep and not suitable for push chairs, wheelchairs or for those with limited mobility or fitness. The paths within the Woodland trail include sets of steps with gradients in excess of 1:5 , 50% or 30 degrees.
Woodland
The main path is tarmac and runs for a length of two kilometres. The gradient is on average 1:20, 5% or 2.9 degrees. It is suitable for all wheel chair users. There is seating provided along the route. There are a number of paths which lead off the main path. These are steep and also include sets of steps and as such are not suitable for push chairs, wheel chairs or those with limited mobility or fitness

Carers tickets
Visitors with disabilities may admit one accompanying carer free of charge when they pay for a full price Adult or Child ticket type; tickets can be collected from our Visitor Centre when you arrive. To collect the carer ticket, please make sure you bring along your supporting documents that shows you require a carer. We accept the following documents:
- Disability Allowance Letter
- PIP letter
- Access Pass
- Any other appropriate supporting documentation as issued by your local council
- National Disability Card
These will be issued on a one-to-one basis. Annual passes can only be purchased by an adult, the child would go free, this is due to a photograph being required.
